Welcome to Department of Medical informatics, Medical School of Nantong University. We are pleased to host you as master degree applicants or research internship in our lab since we are encouraging you to partnering with our team members to achieve your ambitions.
Our department could offer Master degree education program on medical informatics.
We have started our training program for undergraduates since 2002 and post-graduates since 2010, and we have started the program for international postgraduate students since 2019 in our lab.
Anyone of you have background of Medcine/nursing/engineering/management are welcome to apply.

Health/medical Informatics?
Medical informatics is the bridge between human and computer interactions in the health care space that is changing the way health care workers collect and leverage data to improve patient safety, outcomes, and quality. Graduates of the GW Medical Informatics Program are well prepared to utilize their knowledge of electronic health records and databases within clinical settings.
Health Information Management (HIM)
? Based in the practice of acquiring, analyzing, and protecting digital and traditional medical
information in the workplace
? Trained in information management technology applications and workflow
? Manages health information and electronic health records
? Manages the quality of patient information
? Ensures the right information is available when and where it is needed
? Ensures information governance practices are in place and maintains the highest standards
of data integrity, confidentiality, and security
Health Informatics (HI)
? Defines how health information is digitally captured, transmitted and utilized.
? Analyzes health data
? Advances decision-support, usability and workflow practices
? Includes practice & research focused with specialty domains:
? clinical practice
? management science
? management engineering

? healthcare delivery
? public health
? patient safety
? information science
? computer technology
Health Information Technology (HIT)
? Focuses on Information and communication technologies
? Develops, manages and supports the framework used to manage and exchange health information in
a digital format
? Works with software and hardware used to manage and store patient data
? Supports electronic health records and other health technologies
